Dinner Party at Blue House

This piece took place at my day-ones Katie and Dane’s, a haven of community, loving relationships, immaculate food, spontaneity and surprise friend drop-ins.

Dane made venison steak, Katie made one of her infamous salads, with a sourdough foccacia to soak it all up. Will dropped off pots full of snowdrops, the early spring ephemerals, that are at the center of the piece.

I painted this piece a couple days after the dinner party, bringing the atmospheric, joyful nostalgia to the front.

A snapshot in time and yet, stare long enough and you’re right back in the room.
